It’s a done deal

by C.C.Hamilton

So they finally got it over the line. The Tories managed to do their deal with the devil and ensured DUP support for the Queens Speech, Budget and Brexit. At a cost of £1Bn to the taxpayer and according to our Scottish Tories who are at Westminster standing up for us it is not “Barnettable” therefore there is no equivelent sum coming to Scotland or Wales at this time. Lets leave aside the money for a minute because for me that is actually secondary. It has actually been shameful how quickly everyone jumped on the financial aspect and seem to have forgotten who the UK Government have actually gone into a deal with.

The DUP’s record in Women’s and Gay Rights is pretty awful, let’s not kid ourselves and their links to Terror Organisations in the past and their history of Sectarianism is well documented and does them no favours whatsoever. The first thing to imagine is if Corbyn had done a deal with Sinn Fein ( the other party of Government in NI) to prop up a Labour Government. There would have been carnage. Secondly remember the billboards with Alex Salmond picking  pockets in the run up to the 2015 election? The same kind of bollocks was put out this time around too and usually by “Proud Scots” and the SNP is a centre left social democratic party! But the thought of Scotland getting a few extra quid for public services for backing either a minority Miliband or Corbyn Government was a scandal in the press. The DUP are a hard right organisation, somewhere to the right of UKIP in some regards and the UK Government has bunged them a billion quid with the sweetner of further money in 2 years time, should the Government last that long. It is also worth noting the behaviour of Tory MSP’s like Murdo Fraser earlier this year when the Green Party manages to gain a few concessions from the Scottish Government in the budget. Screaming and name calling at the Greens in Parliament, so what does he have to say about this deal? I’m sure our press will remind him of his behaviour. And what of Ruth and auld snackbeard Mundell. Well, Ruth decided to attack independence as some kind of justification for her Government doing a deal with a party with, and let’s be kind here, questionable views on Catholics (she’s marying one) Gay Rights (she is gay) and womens rights (she is a woman.)  It’s all deflection. There can be no right minded person in Scotland who likes this Tory/DUP pact, sure some of the crazy Unionists out there will be buzzing about it but the vast majority of Scots are rational and decent and know that this is a desperate measure from a dreadful Prime Minister and a dangerous one at that.

As far as the money goes, good luck to Northern Ireland. If the money is available they should have it but it shouldn’t have taken 3 weeks of haggling to get it. Here is the whole problem with devolution. Scotland, Wales and NI have to battle and scratch and moan to get a few extra crumbs from the table. And when they do they are called scroungers, sometimes by their own media! Can you imagine where Scotland would be without its own Government screaming and shouting all the time for a share? I can. It was called the 80’s and the Tories brought Scotland to it’s knees and the Labour party, in control just about everywhere in Scotland but in opposition in Westminster managed to do the grand total of fuck all to prevent it. And as we send more Tories to Westminster on the basis of shiny promises for fishermen and farmers (who THEY sold out in the first place) we should remember that. All Scotland did at the General Election was weaken it’s hand. We know that now. Snackbeard Mundell was on TV at the weekend guaranteeing a share of the DUP deal would make its way to Scotland and Wales by way of the Barnett Formula.  It hasn’t. We may get a couple of quid at the budget as a sweetener to make the Thick Thirteen look a bit better. That’d be nice but I rather think that will be more about the SNP screaming and shouting again. Ruth said that her 13 will stand up for Scotland, but I ask to whom? Why do her MP’s have to stand up to their own Government? It is now clear already that these Scottish Tories are no different, indeed are much worse than previous ones. But I don’t think that that is unexpected. They have failed their first test, spectacularly. That is not unexpected either.

More than ever we need to be independent. It is embarrassing having to beg for crumbs from the UK table. No country should be reliant on another, no country’s purse string should be held by a bigger neighbour and no country should need protection from the policies of a larger neighbour who we are supposed to be in partnership with. The democratic deficit is alive and well. Once again Scotland is sidelined because we dream of a better future for everyone. Once again we give this union another go. We send  a few Tories to Westminster to protect us from….Tories, increase our Labour MPS in the hope of something better under Corbyn and vote out some of our most capable politicians to give the union another go. Maybe this time, we will be treated as equal, maybe this time…..Nah. Same old same old. A Tory Government that more than 2/3rd of the country didn’t vote for.

Time for Scotland the Brave, time to make our own mistakes and own them. Time to plot our own path with shoulders back and head held high. Confidently striding into the future as a welcoming, inclusive forward thinking nation. Not dragged back into deals with right wing, as the Mirror calls them today “crackpots.” Time to be in a position of voting OUT any Government we are not happy with. Time to spend money on Health and Education and proper defence rather than nuclear weapons in the Clyde that we will never use.

It is our time, Time to put all of us first. We’ve given the Union another go, it’s broken, we are too junior a partner to fix it. But we can fix us and work with the rest of the UK as equals. And you know what, if Scotland has a £15Bn deficit as is claimed, it just proves that the Union has failed us and that we are brave enough to take the difficult decisions to move Scotland forward. Come on, it’ll be an adventure, let’s get off our knees, Hope over Fear. Be the Scotland we wish to be.

 You Yes Yet?

The Story so Far….

The Story so Far….

There are many people that can put this more eloquently than myself. I usually doodle.

In reality humanity needs to wake up – Yesterday.

I live in the UK, quite possibly the most Un-united Kingdom on the Earth. Our democracy is enslaved to another country and if the word ‘Democracy’ was a person – it would be on its Knees.

If you haven’t already guessed – I am from Scotland.

We could have been independent….actually No. We couldn’t have.  There is no reality where Scotland can democratically free herself; because corruption, legalized propaganda and fear will stop us. And if that didn’t stop us (historically speaking) – a technicality would have[i].

Despite the actual independence referendum itself being questionable (whitewash investigations continue across Scotland) and held with the security of a Tuck Shop being run by squirrels (there are literally videos all over youtube showing problems that even make my disengaged cat wince) – there were some positive outcomes.  Labour destroyed itself and lied (about so many things) specifically about pensions.

Morbidly when I built this website to discuss, campaign, rant etc. it was because I thought we would lose the Independence referendum but paradoxical I also couldn’t watch that historical event take place without Trying.  Trying for something better.

Don’t take that as defeatist. Scotland WILL be independent. I just don’t think it will be with a clear cut vote, in a swirl of rainbows – in fact I suspect it will take a choke hold over the people with the London-Controlled Government reducing us all into very desperate creatures.

Right now the Government keeps its population scared, desperate but still afraid of losing what little we have – that time will move forward in the next five years. Eventually some people will decide that there’s nothing more to lose. And that is what will, probably and eventually, free us all.

But whatever happens – Hope will come in Over Fear. That I do believe. Hope and Integrity will always exist in the cracks and it will bleed through. There are good people out there. You’re probably one of them.

You could mistake my description (with propaganda, discrimination, persecution featuring heavily in the metaphorical brochure) of my beautiful country as belonging in a fascist warzone  – that’s because it is.  And like most advanced forms of warfare – the people don’t even realise they’re being attacked (and destroyed).

I would love to ‘Walt Disney’ this up for you but humans are selfish. They don’t care until it (persecution) is on their doorstep. This is proved by the death of over 60,000 disabled people (10,600 dead in 10 months x 6yrs of Conservatives)[ii] after their benefits were terminated by the Government. And that is just the people we know about. There are people who do not claim for benefits out of fear/shame etc. So sixty thousand people die and nobody cares. This is both sad but reality.

From being forced into ‘reprograming’[iii] by the UK Government under pain of losing meagre benefits, to having budgets cut across all departments to pay for ‘Austerity’ that so far has led to the rich doubling their wealth whilst the poor have become poorer.

Austerity was and is an excellent tool for causing fear (and by natural proxy allow for social control).  It is also, in a larger scale – a complete lie[iv].  Most of us (mere ordinary mortals) have seen our pay cut whilst the top 1000 people’s wealth has doubled[v].

And before I carry on (I am sick of this issue being raised by idiots that can’t do basic math) – Migrants contributed £20bn more in taxes than they took in public services over the last decade.  Average pay, taking account of rising prices, has fallen every year for six years. This is the worst decline living in standards for most people since official records began in 1856.

But the genius Westminster Government[vi] has Working people attacking the Corrupt, the Rich disabled and sick…. immigrants, the really poor, various religions and any day I’m sure they’ll be adding other races, atheists and ‘people that have read A book’ to that list. Make no mistake. You are NOT the exception.  We (rich, poor and everyone in between) are not in this together.

Referring to ‘Social’ control I suppose I should acknowledge BBC bias and the phenomenon of ‘BBC Math’. The BBC bias occurs when the tax-payer funded organisation simply ignored/ignores most protests, events and rally in the same way that my cat doesn’t bury the shit in its litter tray.

BBC Math is basically how the BBC counts how many people turn up at protests against Austerity. It is a very complex procedure. First –They don’t send any journalists. Then one of their writers closes their eyes and picks a number (numbers 0-130) out of a hat. That number then becomes a mainstream official figure.

The key attribute of BBC Math is that no actual Maths takes place.  This phenomenon got so bad during #indyref that I actually found myself placing numbers onto people in a photo of rally to disprove the BBC maths*

* using an advanced technique (I didn’t personally invent…ah what the hell – I invented it) called ‘Counting’.

The BBC is quite frankly…finished in Scotland. Ironically the Conservatives (their masters) want them gone as well so strategically I think the BBC has been taking advice from either Fifa or Glasgow City Council*

*a side note – a sarcastic kudos and slow clap to Glasgow City Council for killing The Arches, demolishing the Buchanan steps and then blowing 23million on spy cameras.  My Bowel has better PR.

All hope is not yet lost.

The legalised propaganda where a Politian (nods to Alastair Carmichael) can lie and then face no repercussions is being challenged in Scotland – by a Crowdfund.  If someone had pointed out that previous sentence to me two years ago I would have thought it came from a fantasy story.. People don’t care….right? Wrong[vii]  3913 people seriously care and have put up £60,000 in 16 days.  This is pretty damn incredible.

We also KNOW that 1,617,989[viii] Scottish people are Brave and there are Many of them (see what I did there).

Despite the entire mainstream media, UK Government and most political parties raining down their very best ‘merry hell’ – 1,617,989 people stood and fought for Scotland.

Labour literally lost its strategic heid and continued to Exorcist (spin) its way to hell.  When I was a kid I may have (once) voted Labour (I came from a seriously Labour family…some of you know HOW Labour that was and what it cost to walk away) but I digress – I am happy that their true and quite frankly Conservative colours have been exposed. I am sad that they cannot admit how much they have screwed (up) Scotland.

They now have a chance to go away, disentangle themselves from London, ‘find themselves’ and come back with a new vision, attitude and attempt redemption (hopefully not in my life time though) – but they will Not. Instead Labour has somehow become MORE right wing than most conventional right wing parties. It’s actually fascinating to watch – but not in a good way. It’s like watching a horror movie KNOWING that everyone is going to die but watching it until the end anyways.

Then in May – 1,454,436 of those people came back and reinforced Scotland by voting SNP.  Whether you are SNP or not – That sends a message.

I would have, personally, been happy with Scotland backing any of the anti-austerity parties and I wish the Scottish Greens had done better basically because I liked the moxy of Patrick Harvie.  But, like most, I understood the importance of not splitting the vote.

So where are we now?

>Tentatively pushes a piece of paper across the digital table<

2016 Scottish Parliament general election – Thursday 5 May 2016,_1979

[1] In the UK, the main Government (voted in General Election) hold their debates etc. at Westminster.  Despite 56 MPs out of 59 from Scotland being against Austerity – the Scottish people have virtually no democratic control over their country as The United Kingdom is divided into 650 constituencies, with 533 in England, 40 in Wales, 59 in Scotland, and 18 in Northern Ireland. So even if Scotland, Wales and Ireland wanted a different future, party, government – England controls all four. Kind of like how a Prison Guard controls the Inmates. Democratic? So whats happened is that a party called the Conservatives controls the UK. They are possibly one of the most morally corrupt party in history…but that’s for another article.

Argyll and Bute: Cutting the Most Vulnerable: Part 2

Argyll and Bute: Cutting the Most Vulnerable: Part 2

Argyll andBute: Cutting the Most Vulnerable: Part 2

Two Points that are New (new information to us) are:

  1. The proposals (as predicted in our last article) are now missing from where they were on Argyll and Bute Councils Websites. But don’t worry Argyll and Bute – We saved a copy for everyone. You can download them here Service Choices Report – Appendix 1-1
  2. The reason I couldn’t get the Minutes from the Proposals meeting was because there weren’t any. (Let that sink in – We’re meant to be a democratic country).

3.     These proposals were hatched in secret by 12 of the 36 councillors.

The group that they formed was NOT a committee of the council and no papers were published nor minutes produced. (Michael Breslin was one of the 24 councillors kept in the dark.  More detailed exploration into this story can be found on (This is Michael Breslin’s Website and actually gives you an insight into how underhanded this entire omnishambles has become)..

It should also be noted that SNP was in that room, part of that group (I wouldn’t be doing my duty to you if I didn’t tell you that – its not exactly making me sing inside but you guys need to know that I don’t mind being uncomfortable about this)… Iain MacLean, Sandy Taylor, Gordon Blair and Richard Trail.

And as for  6 others…..we’ll have you soon they were Dick Walsh (Independent), Gary Mulvaney (Conservative),  Roddy McCuish (Independent), Robin Currie (Liberal Democrats), Ellen Morton (Liberal Democrats) & Aileen Morton (Liberal Democrats). We’re missing 2 (should be noted that these names have came from 3 sources now…always missing the same two). It’ll be sorted soon. (Ammended Data: The missing names are from Trade Unions)

Action Points (Which I promised in the first article[1] are now ready):

  1. FIRST: There is an OPEN PUBLIC meeting about this on the 8th of October.

Anyone that can go – SHOULD GO. It is a meeting of the Policy & Resources Committee of Argyll and Bute Council on Thursday 8th of October.

(Goodluck, btw, in trying to find Information to Attend. We had to seriously dig through and here is what we have)[2]

Thursday, 8 October 2015 10:30 am, Policy and Resources Committee

Ironically if you have one of the 100s of jobs they are proposing to cut – I doubt you’ll be able to attend at 10.30am on Thursday but try and find someone who can.

  1. You can’t attend – its NOT over. If you wish to Lobby (write, tell them you are not happy and demand they do something) your MP: These are the people you are looking for (don’t worry should that page go down – I’ll very helpfully re-upload it for them on my site)

If you are not from Argyll and Bute Council – you’re probably thinking “This doesn’t affect me”. Actually it does. If they pull this off and successfully cut these services in Argyll and Bute – it will set a precedence and what started off as a stand against one council will open out into every Council. Don’t make all of our lives a misery by NOT taking a stand. WRITE to your MSP, your Party, Make this an Issue – Let EVERYONE know what is happening here and why it matters.

[1] You will notice that this is the first time in our history that we have ever written a part two to an article (previous article detailing some of the proposals available here ) but THAT is how bad this story is becoming.

[2] (if this page goes missing – let us know and we’ll upload it here)

Argyll & Bute Council: The Corruption

Argyll & Bute Council Proposes cutting the MOST Vulnerable

As Councils prepare proposals for Budget Cuts – You now no longer need to guess where Councils want the axe to fall.

Argyll & Bute Council (run by a coalition of Conservative, Lib Dem and Independent councillors.) have released their ‘Proposals’ (Amended Information:Proposals created during an unminuted meeting. held in secret, with only 12 of 36 councils. 10 we now know – 4 SNP, 1 Conservative, 2 Independents, 3 Lib Dems- 2 names MISSING) in which the Public can pick if they want to cut vulnerable people over children, various Jobs over Additional Support Needs, Charity Funding or BASIC general waste collection services…. It is a grim read.

But it does tell you one thing:- Argyll & Bute Council genuinely think that Children, Vulnerable AND Disabled people are fair game. These are some of their ideas for cuts:-

  • Reducing the budget for Disability Access

·         Cutting Additional Support Needs assistants across areas by 45%

·         Reduce Specialist equipment (Additional Support Needs) by 20%.

  • Reduce funding by 25% for domestic abuse outreach support.
  • Reduce funding for rent deposit scheme and service user involvement
  • Reduce home and hospital tuition by 25% (Additional Support Needs (SEN Asst; Pupil Support Teachers; Various Therapy Support; etc)
  • Withdraw services that the council is not required to provide for children under 5.
  • Withdraw Early Years third sector grants and services
  • Remove Early Years Change Fund used to support families
  • Remove School Librarians in all Secondary Schools
  • Remove NDR discretionary relief for charitable bodies
  • Removal of general budget for Local Development Plan consultation/events.
  • Removal of School Crossing Patrollers at all sites across Argyll and Bute.
  • Removal of food waste collection within Helensburgh area.

Do NOT think you can escape by dying either-

  • Increase Burial Charges by 20% over and above inflationary increase.
  • Increase Cremation Charges by 20% over and above inflationary increase.

Oh and Christmas?

  • Removal of Christmas lights installation, storage reducing resource hours relating to this activity.

There are a few other disgusting proposals as well-

  • Move to 3 weekly collection for general waste
  • Removal of food waste collection within Helensburgh area

Full Proposal[1] is (hidden quite and difficult to find – which is the reason we are writing about this) are on the Councils Website at (incase the link mysterious fails to work – you can also get it hosted on our site at Service Choices Report – Appendix 1-1)

Over on Michael Russell’s blog[2] (SNP), in a joint statement from himself, Brendan O’Hara and Mike McKenzie MSP, they described the proposals as:-

“a devastating and brutal set of proposals, which have been slipped out hidden away in a mass of other Council papers rather than openly presented to local people”

He is not wrong.

(his article on it is written far better than my own post. Check it out here – )

The proposals are a disgrace, deliberately targeting and discriminating against communities (disabled, mental health, hospitalised children etc.) that already struggle to be heard and have had to fight for decades to even be recognised/funded in the first place.

And for those who are not disabled, don’t have children, aren’t in hospital and feel ‘quite comfortable’ and safe – YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE. You may be fit, healthy and employed TODAY – but will you and your family ALWAYS be? Statistically – it’s not likely.

READ THE FULL PROPOSAL LIST – Even if you do have immunity from the aforementioned – does your Car, Your Bin, your local Swimming Pool, your Libraries…your best mate whose job is about to be cut?

You may also be thinking – “Well I don’t even LIVE in Argyll and Bute”.  No you don’t – but if Argyll and Bute Council get away with their cuts….do you REALLY believe that your own Council (under the same financial pressures) won’t try and sneak in a few of these options? If this is accepted that will ‘normalise’ yet another attack against our own people by the very people MEANT to protect them.

This is not an early stage Proposal. This is a STAGE THREE proposal. During which the first two stages involved ZERO consultation from the public. Even trying to find the minutes[3] from the meeting announcing these attacks on core services[4] are difficult.

Argyll & Bute Council have done this very very quietly, in the hopes of getting it passed all of us. They have not made this information easy to dig up and they have come up with these cuts without consultation. Behind Closed Doors.

Only NOW (after creating a list of cuts that will shut down charities, damage children’s education, turn off Christmas Lights, remove support for Disabled people, add extra charges to bereaved families & friends and attack the most vulnerable people in our communities) – have they bothered to ask.

But what they have presented is NOT a choice (asking the public which vital organ they want removed – is NOT A CHOICE).   #NoChoiceCouncil

What they have presented to the public is NOT good enough.

The people of Argyll and Bute deserve better than this atrocity.

It will cost 1000s jobs and devastate the entire area. It WILL leave scars that will remain for generations. And what’s worse – At Stage 3 – The Councillors of Argyll and Bute KNOW this.

By now they will have seen Impact Statements from EVERY department.

They KNOW what they are trying to do.

So before you leave this page/hop over to watch cat videos on Youtube and ignore the plight of other human beings –

You could try and HELP.

    1. Councillors and Councils do not like negative Exposure. So make sure you let them know on Social Media[5] what you think – twitter is @argyllandbute ( and facebook is
    2. This entire document is disgusting and we have not even shown you the full 10 pages of it. Share this article. Tweet this article – or even just tweet the actual Proposals List itself
    3. Should your tweets be erased – Let them know on their own website

There will be an update to this article with direct actions that you can take – Right now we’re talking to a few other people about this and seeking advice on the best way to take this forward.

[4] Core Services – in my opinion. Clearly not in Argyll and Bute Council’s opinion.

[5] Legally I should probably say that when you contact Arygll and Bute Council – Be polite, don’t swear etc. So here it the bottom of a page…difficult to find, in pale grey (just like Argyll and Butes own Proposal information & public awareness notices) – >> Be Polite <<
